Supplier Diversity
Promoting economic inclusion within our network reflects our core values of fairness and equal opportunity for all. We recognize that fostering opportunities for diverse businesses drives economic growth, enhances community well-being, and strengthens the financial vitality of the region we serve.
At Premier Health, economic inclusion is championed at every level of leadership, with accountability for the success of our program. We embed economic inclusion into our strategic sourcing and procurement processes, creating efficiencies, sparking innovation, and expanding opportunities for diverse businesses within our communities.
By cultivating strong relationships with local businesses, business resource partners, and community organizations, we have built a robust program that exemplifies best practices and reinforces the economic strength of our region.
As an organization, we are committed to increasing the financial vitality of our community by engaging, educating, and partnering with locally owned small businesses to ensure inclusive growth and prosperity for all.
We understand that as a healthcare service provider in the Dayton region we are a significant economic engine for our local community, serving both as an employer and as a contractor for local goods and services. Through this understanding, our economic inclusion produces:
- Greater innovation and value through cost reductions.
- Expansion of external partnerships, often nontraditional, in the community.
- Local job creation and other community benefits.
- Supplier roster that mirrors the patient and community populations.
Our goal is to deliver a level of service that sets the standard for excellence and inspires others to follow. To achieve this, we have implemented several best practices designed to uphold our commitment to economic inclusion and community engagement:
- Community outreach for all manager construction projects (e.g., MVHS and MVHN expansion projects, GSH demolition, OnMain project)
- Participation and membership with the Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council (OHSDC) and the Women Business Entrepreneurial Council – Ohio River Valley (WBENCORV), Dayton Chamber of Commerce Minority Business Partnership
- Quarterly supplier diversity reporting to senior leadership
- Providing diverse investment opportunities for Premier projects which, in turn, are providing opportunities for the community
