Stereotaxis
The Stereotaxis Robotic Magnetic Navigation System, first offered in Southwest Ohio at Miami Valley Hospital, is a minimally invasive treatment that delivers improved results for patients with complex cardiac arrhythmias.
The Stereotaxis Vdrive® robotic navigation system allows physicians to remotely control an ultrasound catheter with improved real-time picture quality of the heart’s anatomy while simultaneously maneuvering another catheter to
ablate, or destroy, the diseased cardiac tissue causing the arrhythmia.
Once in place, the catheter generates tiny electrical pulses to correct the arrhythmia and return the patient’s heart to a healthy rhythm. Used in combination with advanced three-dimensional mapping, Stereotaxis enables physicians to target the
heart’s intricate wiring with pinpoint accuracy and enhances the safety of the ablation procedure by reducing radiation exposure.
Premier Health primarily uses the Stereotaxis system for treating complex arrhythmias such as
atrial fibrillation and title=ventricular tachycardia;healthinfo=Ventricular Tachycardia (VT).

How Patients Benefit From Stereotaxis
- Improved results in the treatment of common and complex arrhythmias
- Shorter procedure times, less radiation exposure, and decreased hospital stays
- Increased likelihood of successful treatment of highly complex arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia
For Medical Professionals
Besides treating atrial fibrillation, the Stereotaxis Robotic Magnetic Navigation System offers similar advantages in correcting other complex arrhythmias, such as ventricular tachycardia, and atrial arrhythmias associated with structural heart disease.
