Common Questions
Fidelity Health Care accepts Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and self-pay. Most insurance companies will cover all or a portion of services that are considered skilled. Skilled services include nursing, therapy, and social work visits for evaluation, education, and treatment. The services of a home care aide are included in many insurance plans. We’re happy to work with you and your insurance plan to determine coverage, and we’ll also bill your insurance company directly. For more information, see Insurance.
Your physician will work with Fidelity to determine a plan of care. The duration and frequency of home visits by a nurse, therapist, social worker, or home health aide will be determined by your health care needs as directed by your physician.
Our Independent Care Services can provide in-home assistance including post-surgery care, running errands, bathing, dressing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, assisting with recreational activities, and travelling companion.
Skilled services in the home require a physician’s order. Some insurance companies have specific criteria that must be met in order to cover the cost. Your physician and/or their staff will determine if you meet the criteria set forth by your insurance company.
Many nonskilled services can be provided by a home care aide and obtained without a physician’s order for an independent care service.
Home care aides provide an extra level of comfort that is often needed after returning home from surgery or illness. A skilled home care aide can provide exercises, personal care (bath, shower, mouth care), help with walking and transferring in and out of bed, and assistance with walkers and lifts.
