Telehealth

Health care on your schedule is a priority at Premier Health. Our telehealth capabilities enable you to get the care you need, wherever and whenever you need it, whether you’re in our hospitals, the office of your Premier Physician Network provider, your home or workplace, or many Southwest Ohio community hospitals or skilled nursing facilities.

Using advanced telehealth technology to connect patients and health care providers, Premier Health is able to speed the delivery of care when it’s needed most, provide specialized care, and close the distance for care.

TeleStroke

When every minute matters, Premier’s TeleStroke services bring the highest level of stroke care to patients in hospitals across the region. Our board-certified stroke neurologists and neurointensivists deliver timely care to patients who have signs of stroke using a computer and monitor bringing the remote doctor to the patient’s bedside. The stroke specialists’ prompt evaluation and care recommendations help to improve a patient’s chances for recovery — even if the patient is in a hospital miles away.

NEUROne

NEUROne provides patients who have non-emergent neurological conditions remote access to a Premier Health neurologist. At their local hospital, patients are linked by video with a neurologist who works with a neurology-trained provider at the bedside to care for them in the hospital. The program is suitable for patients with general neurological conditions, including headache, seizure, stroke, and neuro-muscular disorders. This allows patients to stay in their local hospital and still receive the neurology care they need.

TeleIntensivist

For hospitals with limited critical care resources, Premier Health’s TeleIntensivist program accelerates access to specialty care for critically ill patients. An intensivist is a board-certified physician who provides special care for critically ill patients and has advanced training and experience in treating their complex health needs. Video consultation brings Premier Health’s intensivists to patients at their local hospital, allowing local providers to collaborate with the intensivist on care.

TeleSNF

For patients in skilled nursing facilities (SNF), Premier Health’s TeleSNF increases access to board-certified physicians and accelerates delivery of care, with the goal of avoiding unnecessary transfers to an emergency department. Through video consultation, physicians assess a patient’s needs and make care recommendations. Using TeleSNF, skilled nursing facilities gain virtual face-to-face access to board-certified physicians 24/7.

TeleSocialWork

For patients at Premier Health’s smaller EDs who need a consultation with a social worker — day or night — ED physicians can refer them to Premier TeleSocialWork. Social workers at Miami Valley Hospital can talk directly with patients at neighboring Premier Health hospitals via a computer and monitor wheeled right to the patient’s bedside. Social workers can provide ED patients with information and referral to many community or behavioral health agencies.

TeleEEG

Analysis of inpatient and outpatient EEG studies by a remote Premier Health Neurologist.

TeleHospitalist

Telehealth service used at peak volume times to advance the process of admission from the Emergency Department to the appropriate inpatient unit. The remote hospitalist begins the admission assessment and any necessary orders while the patient is boarded in the ED, progressing the patient's care plan until a bed is available.

TeleMFM

Telehealth service that connects rural OBGYN offices to the Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists at Miami Valley Hospital. This program supports the expectant mother and family's complex pregnancy without the demands of travel.

TeleRegistration

Telehealth service that connects patients registering for outpatient procedures, ED, observation, and/or inpatient admissions to a remotely-located Registrar. This allows Premier Health to scale out limited resources and ensure every campus has registration services available when needed.

TeleSUN

Telehealth program that offers wrap-around Substance Use Navigator (SUN) services to ensure patients at any Premier Health campus can connect to critical services.

Virtual Nursing

Telehealth program for select nursing units that leverages a remotely-located virtual nurse to accomplish the critical administrative tasks of Admission and Discharge coordination. This care model reallocates precious time to the bedside nurse to provide hands-on care and supports attentive, one on one patient communication.

TeleBurn and TeleOstomy

Programs that utilize telehealth to connect burn and ostomy patients with specialty providers, reducing unnecessary travel and speeding up access to care.
