Why Premier Health
We can connect you with behavioral health programs and services throughout Premier Health designed to improve your mental well-being and quality of life.
Offering these programs at Atrium Medical Center, Miami Valley Hospital, Samaritan Behavioral Health, and Upper Valley Medical Center, we’ve served the Southwest Ohio community since the late 1970s and are a trusted resource for behavioral health and substance use disorder care.
Here are several additional reasons to entrust the care of you or a loved one to us:
We can help you in a crisis. Our inpatient services for adults provide intensive care if you have a serious mental or behavioral health issue. Our medical experts create a customized treatment plan with options for medication, classes, and individual and group therapies. Your care will also include a discharge plan to help you maintain a healthy life once you leave the hospital.
We offer diverse outpatient programs for behavioral health and substance use disorder. Whether
you are struggling with depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress, personality disorder, or substance use disorder, our staff will individualize your treatment. We’ll get you whatever care you need to achieve better relationships and a better
quality of life. If you have both a chemical dependency and a mental health disorder, we even offer a dual-diagnosis program.
We’ll help you get the treatment you or your family needs — at any age. In addition to providing services for adults at all three hospitals, we also are the only provider of early childhood mental health services in the area. We offer Young Children’s Assessment and Treatment Services at Samaritan Behavioral Health.
You’ll receive care from a nationally recognized medical center. We’re accredited by The Joint Commission for hospital accreditation, a commendation that shows our commitment to offering high quality care for you and your family. We also are licensed by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and Samaritan Behavioral Health is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
You’ll have access to some of the latest therapies. If you have posttraumatic stress disorder, substance use disorder, or depression, our staff at Miami Valley Hospital offers a six-month dialectical behavioral therapy skill-building program. Concrete, applicable skills learned in the class can help you cope more effectively with your disorder. Another technique called eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)may help you come to grips with trauma by bringing repressed thoughts and feelings from the unconscious to the conscious mind.
You’ll have a team of highly skilled, compassionate experts working for you. Our behavioral health team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and counselors all have master’s degrees or higher and are trained in advanced techniques for mental health diagnoses and substance abuse. They work closely with behavioral health nurses and social workers. The entire team pairs their clinical skills with an attitude of respect, kindness, and empathy for your situation. We’re committed to helping you improve your life.
You’ll receive treatment in a safe, secure environment. We provide safe environments for you to feel comfortable and secure during your time with us — whether you’re receiving outpatient or inpatient care. All of our counselors and team members listen to you nonjudgmentally, with the utmost respect.
We’re conveniently located along I-75. We are available to serve you and other residents of more than 10 counties in Southwest Ohio. Our team knows our neighborhoods well, allowing us to connect you and your loved ones with community services you will need to keep yourself healthy once you leave our programs.
Our Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Service is available to medical/surgical patients. At Miami Valley Hospital, our consult team of psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers can meet with you for behavioral health issues while you’re in the hospital for medical, surgical, or obstetrical care. If you are at Atrium Medical Center or Upper Valley Medical Center, we also can consult with a psychiatrist, as needed.
