Screenings are tests that look for diseases before you have symptoms. Screenings can find diseases in their early stages, when they're easier to treat.

What Screenings Are Available?

Premier Health’s team of professionals can provide employers and community groups any or all of the following screenings:

  • Body fat screening
  • Carotid bruit: Measures blood flow to the brain
  • Dermascan: Measures skin damage caused by the sun
  • Hearing screening: To determine possible hearing loss. Typically combined with vision screening
  • Height, weight, and body mass index (BMI)
  • Lipid profile: More comprehensive than the basic cholesterol screening, this test measures total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides, and glucose levels in less than two minutes with just a single fingerstick. Requires a 10-hour fast for accurate results.
  • Vision screening

When Are Results Available?

Results of these screenings take just a few minutes. Our health educators will share results with each participant before they leave the screening room.

Participants will receive a telephone follow-up from our health educators if they:

  • Have an acute or abnormal reading/result
  • Request to talk with a tobacco treatment specialist
  • Request a physician referral

What Is the Ideal Location for a Screening?

An indoor, temperature-controlled location is needed due to the sensitivity of screening instruments. We’ll need to avoid cold drafts, high humidity and the sun. Some locations that work well are:

  • Churches
  • Community centers
  • Senior centers
  • Workplaces

What Will Our Group Need to Provide?

We’ll come fully equipped with the supplies we need to screen everyone who attends a screening. You’ll need to provide:

  • Access to electricity
  • Tables and chairs
  • Trash can

How and When Can Our Group Schedule a Screening?

Booking a screening three to four weeks in advance is ideal. But if we’re available, we’re happy to accommodate a shorter notice.
