Education And Support
We want to help you access all of the care and services you need to aid your healing process. If you have breast cancer, here are some services that may benefit you:
- An oncology nurse navigator who knows a great deal about
the needs of women with breast cancer will be available to listen to you, answer your questions, and help you understand next steps in your treatment. Your navigator also will find resources for you and your family as you move through diagnosis,
treatment, and beyond. Your navigator and care team members will partner to provide support for you every step of the way.
- Sharing Our Strength (SOS) is a breast cancer support group held at Miami Valley Hospital North on
the third Monday of the month, at 6 p.m., in the Education Center, located inside the Main Street entrance. A typical meeting offers a guest speaker for the first hour and an opportunity to share and connect with others during the second hour.
Topics vary. They include lymphedema, Q & A with an oncology physician or nurse practitioner, community resources, genetics, clinical trials, and diagnosis and treatment updates. Contact (937) 734-6117(937) 734-6117.
- Expressions of Hope is a traveling boutique to assist you with finding post-surgery products if you’ve had a lumpectomy or mastectomy. Our knowledgeable staff creates a comfortable, pleasant shopping experience for you as we help you select
breast forms, shapers, bras, and swim forms. We bring the boutique to our Premier Health locations. to make
shopping more convenient for you. Items are covered by most major health plans, and financial assistance is available for those who qualify. For information or to make an appointment, call us at (937) 438-7355(937) 438-7355.
