Gynecologic Oncology Center Streamlines Care For Patients

Michael Guy, MD, a fellowship-trained gynecologic oncologist and certified physician with MD Anderson Cancer Network^® , leads a gynecologic oncology team that provides personalized treatment plans for women who have gynecologic cancer, whether it's cervical, endometrial, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, or vulvar. In addition, Dr. Guy does consults for post-menopausal bleeding, and even when patients don’t have cancer, he follows through until all questions and concerns have been addressed.

Gynecologic cancer care is streamlined and comprehensive, with most services provided at Miami Valley Hospital South. Radiation oncology services are provided at several locations for patients’ convenience.

“It’s a one-stop shop, where the physician and nursing team treat you like family and get to know you from start to finish,” says Amanda Musser, MSN, RN, system director, hospital operations outpatient oncology “Dr. Guy and his team bend over backwards for patients, providing treatment and education, helping them to get appointments scheduled, and offering specialized services such as genetic counseling, as needed.”

Dr. Guy and the gynecologic oncology team routinely attend a multispecialty tumor conference to review and discuss cases. Dr. Guy also can consult with MD Anderson's cancer specialists on complex cases. 

Several gynecologic clinical trials are available for patients who qualify.
